Liberatv - Hip osteoarthritis, here's the ceramic prosthetic liner: “An alternative for younger, more active patients”

Pain in the groin, difficulty in daily movements, progressively declining sports performance. These are often the first signs of a hip that is wearing down and, in more advanced cases, may require surgery. A new treatment option is now available in Ticino. It is ceramic hip resurfacing, a procedure that aims to preserve much of the patient's natural bone and is aimed particularly at younger, physically active people.

We spoke about it with Dr. Michele Palazzuolo, an orthopedic surgeon specializing in hip disorders at Ars Medica. The physician gained specific experience with this technique during a fellowship in Australia and has contributed to international scientific research on resurfacing with several publications on the topic.
