Accessibility is a key element of the project. The Centre has been established thanks to the support of the Genolier Foundation, which makes a significant contribution to the funding of the courses and activities offered to patients. Some services provided by psychologists, dietitians, physiotherapists and occupational therapists may also be covered by the LAMal (Swiss Health Insurance Act) upon medical prescription, whilst certain ASCA- and RME-certified therapists may be recognised by supplementary insurance schemes. Antonio Sansossio, Head of Communications for Swiss Medical Network’s Ticino Region and a member of the Genolier Foundation’s Board of Trustees, emphasises that cost should not be a barrier: in the event of financial difficulties, the situation is assessed on a case-by-case basis to find suitable solutions.
